ArDuino Functions in C++

Learning about while loops, if/else statements and for loops.

Exploring Circuits via experimentation

Yesterday one of the struggles we encountered was having too much resistance in our circuit in order for our LED to light up. Today we are going to focus on understanding the role of resistance in circuits and the relationship between resistance, current and voltage.

Resistor Circuit Experiments

You have been given a light bulb, a light bulb connector, two resistors, a battery and a battery connector.

We want to investigate the relationship between voltage, current and resistance. Voltage is provided by the battery. Resistance is provided by both the light bulb and resistors.

Step 1: Get your light bulb to light up.

Step 2: Get your light bulb to light up less.

Step 3: Get your light bulb to light up even less than in “Step 2”.

Step 4: Get your light bulb to light up more than in “Step 3” but less than in “Step 2”

Based on your experiments what is the relationship between voltage, current and resistance?

Based on your experiments what happens when you put two resistors in series?

Based on your experiments what happens when you put two resistors in parallel?
