In this section we talk about typical set-ups for frictional problems and the steps we should take to solve them. Essentially you should draw a free-body diagram of all the forces that are acting on a body. Write out the Fnet equation for all the forces acting on the body. Then write out the Fnet equation for the x components and y components. These typical set-ups should put you in a position of being able to solve any frictional force problem regardless of the variable you are being asked to solve for.
