It is a year later. Even after all of the events of your last adventure you have decided to return to the McMurdo scientific center as there have been mysterious energy readings emanating from the region. On arrival, you find an implausibly made ice tunnel that is 30 meters long. The ice tunnels floor seems to be made of salted ice with a coefficient of friction of 0.3. At the end of the tunnel there seems to be a portal. Initial readings from the portal indicate that objects that move through the portal must enter at exactly 12 m/s. You decide to send through a communication device to try and communicate with whoever or whatever is on the other side of the tunnel. Your communication device weighs 20kg and is placed 50 meters from the entrance of the tunnel. The ice between the device and the entrance of the tunnel has a coefficient of 0.2. The static friction coefficient for the ice is measured to be 0.5. The leader of the research team wants to know how much force will it take to get the communication device moving and then how fast the communication needs to be moving at the beginning to get through the tunnel at 12m/s.
